Katherine Persson MSc MBA

Katherine joined the SOLA team in early 2021.  She has a MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Nottingham, an MBA (Cum Laude) from the Stellenbosch Business School, plus 2 decades’ of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development, finance and implementation, across multiple technologies and geographies.  

Katherine has an extensive track-record in executive positions, focused on leading and managing project teams.  She has been directly involved in over 1GW of renewable energy projects successfully financed in South Africa to date, including managing several large projects from greenfield identification through to financial close and beyond.  She is a Certified Expert in Renewable Energy and Climate Finance from the Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaboration Centre, is a qualified director under the IoDSA, and is actively involved in industry associations and women in energy networks.
