Simon Haw, Msc.

Executive Head of Business Development

Simon holds a MSc. Civil and Environmental Engineering- Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology from Stanford University, Stanford, CA as well as a BSc. Civil Engineering, from University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa.

With over 10 years of experience in the solar industry, Simon has an intimate knowledge of the market both locally and abroad.

Simon worked at SolFocus where he was involved in the construction of a number of solar facilities in California and Spain. His role at SolFocus centered on Project Management in new markets where the company was looking to commercial role out of a new solar concentrator product developed in Silicon Valley. His experience included project managing the entire procurement and installation of test sites in California close to the company Head Quarters and subsequently the larger installation of product in Puertollano Spain where the power was fed into the national grid to capture the Spanish Feed in Tariff.

Simon co-founded Aurora Power Solutions (now SOLA Assets) and was involved in closing and securing 260 MW of utility-scale solar PV projects, and is currently the Head of Business Development at the SOLA Group, incorporating SOLA Assets (previously Aurora Power Solutions) and SOLA Build (previously SOLA Future Energy). He currently also sits on the board of SAPVIA, the South African Photovoltaics Industry Association.
